Large Cedar Lined Card Box

This delightful piece was inspired by a friend who wanted to show up for a card game in style. Designed for both form and function, this cedar lined box can handle just about any treasure you decide to keep.

The lid is solid black walnut with a cedar insert, the top intricately carved with a swirling sun motif. The body is walnut laminated to western cedar with a cedar bottom and dividers. Four powerful magnets insure that the lid stays closed. Concealed brass barrel hinges yield a clean back edge in addition to a 90 degree lid opening.

The interior is left unsealed to allow the wonderful fragrance of the cedar to drift out when opening. In addition the cedar is a natural bug deterrent and helps control humidity to protect your valuables inside. The exterior is buffed to a lustrous shine then sealed with several coats of tung oil and beeswax.
