The "JD" Jewelry Box

The JD is a jewelry box with a surprise music box playing Fur Elise hidden within!

Crafted from solid Alder wood this piece makes a bold statement wherever it resides.

The top is carved with a geometric pattern which is inlaid with three different pearlescent micas. The sides of the box are concave on the exterior while remaining flat internally. A brilliant inlay of mica runs the entire circumference of the box, fading from light green to dark. Inside features and acrylic mirror fitted to the lid. The body of the box is felt lined cedar, which acts as a sound board for the music box hidden in a compartment on the left side. The music box can be accessed by pulling up on the red satin tab. The winding handle is located beneath the box, snug to a felt lined bottom.

When closed the lid is held firmly shut by four magnets recessed into the wood.

The music box is controlled by an old fashioned brass armature which activates when the lid is opened. This pin is capped with a silicon bumper to prevent damage to mirror, as well as fingers.

Finished with tung oil and beeswax, the JD will hold its luster for years to come.
